Protect your health with professional radon testing. We detect radon levels in air and water, ensuring your home remains safe and contamination-free.
Radon is a tasteless, odorless, and radioactive gas created by the disintegration of uranium reserves found naturally in the earth’s crust. During this degradation process, radon gas enters the house and poses a health risk. Inhaled radon decay products have the potential to change lung cells, which may raise the risk of developing lung cancer.
The second most common cause of lung cancer in the US is indoor radon, which poses a serious health danger to families nationwide when inhaled for extended periods. It is critical to understand that this hazard is entirely avoidable. A straightforward test can identify radon, and it can be eliminated using tried-and-true venting methods.
When radon is found in well water, it can potentially be harmful to health. Uranium is the cause of radon, and if your well water is near a uranium source, the levels of uranium in your drinking water may be high. Radon in water can be remedied by fixing it as soon as it enters the residence.
Diffuse bubble aeration systems are installed by Mass Environmental Health to safely remove radon from water.
Test the property, and if the results coming at 4pCi/L or higher the E.P.A. states that action should be taken.
Contact Mass Environmental Health at 1-xxx-669-66xx or via email at [email protected] and a certified mitigation professional will promptly schedule a time to come to your house or business and conduct a free visual and olfactory evaluation.
The complete installation process usually takes one day. After the installation is complete, a Radon retest will be provided at no cost, to certify the reduced Radon concentrations.
Radon has no smell or taste; air sampling is required to detect radon in your home or business.
The duration of a radon test in a house can vary. Short-term testing can take 2–90 days, while long-term testing takes more than 90 days. The minimum test period for a radon test done by a licensed radon technician is two days (48 hours). Results are available immediately or within a couple of hours after completion of the test, depending on the type of test device used. Whether you test for radon yourself or hire a qualified tester, all radon tests should be taken for a minimum of 48 hours.
The EPA has maintained the position that radon measurement systems provide practical and affordable measurements that can give consumers the information they need about the radon level in their homes in order to make a decision about whether to fix their homes.
